2022 Canadian Oak Chardonnay VQA – Sold Out

Grown, Produced and Bottled by Featherstone

This wine is a unique, complex and local in an extraordinary way. It is made exclusively from Niagara grapes, fermented by ‘wild’ yeasts indigenous to our vineyard, and matured in barrels made from nearby oak trees. This dry wine has Granny Smith apple and pear nuances and tremendous minerality and freshness to balance the butter and vanilla flavours. It pairs well with medium cheeses, roast poultry but is also delicious on its own.

previous vintage: Vic Harradine  – 92 points

“Aromas of green apple and ripe pear interwoven with floral notes and caramel precede a palate-bathing wash of tangy lemon-lime acidity and baked apple and notions of baking spice—nutmeg and cinnamon. This is medium bodied with good mouthfeel and persistent purity of fruit, good balance and plenty of pizzazz. Palate replays persist through the finish and aftertaste crisp, clean and refreshing. Remove from the refrigerator 20 to 30 minutes before serving. It sips well on its own and also pours well with roast chicken or pork roast.”

Available at the winery and in the Vintages section of the LCBO occasionally (product # 149302) Price includes $.20 refundable bottle deposit. Case of 12: $301.80
